The Opportunity

We are looking for a Customer Solutions  Engineer to join our team! Given the nature of our team, product, and customer base, a strong technical background is a must. The right person for this role is a self-starter with the ability to collaborate with team members and third parties. You will work together with your sales counterparts to promote ForAllSecure’s Mayhem flagship product and work to build technical relationships with prospects and customers. Responsibilities will include technical presentations, demonstrations, contributing technical content, and being a team player. Being a small team, we’re looking for individuals excited about helping us to define new processes and making a big impact!

What You Will Do

Run technical pre-sales, pilots, and post-sales engagements:

  • Consult with our commercial prospects and customers to help show them the value of our solution. Run customer pilots, presentations, and drive technical conversations.  
  • Evolve and iterate and improve our demonstration and pilot process.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor when customers have questions, concerns, or issues.
  • Coordinate Mayhem Security resources including, operations staff, senior engineering, and software developers to ensure rapid issue resolutions.
  • Represent the needs of prospects in product and marketing discussions

Account management

  • Develop technical trusted advisor relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Drive adoption, engagement and growth.
  • Drive upsells and expansion by suggesting improvements.
  • Actively promote Mayhem Security services to existing and new contacts within key accounts to grow deployment.

Qualifications

Core qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as DevOps, software engineering, or customer facing solutions engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux environments — can confidently navigate installation, the command line, manipulate files, troubleshoot services, and write shell scripts.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker — can build, run, and debug containers.
  • Can read and write C/C++ code to write test harnesses, build them, and debug build issues or crashes with tools like gdb.
  • Able to write basic automation scripts in Python or Bash.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Exposure to software security principles and common vulnerability classes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills — you're the kind of person who reads logs, Googles errors, and figures it out.
  • Task-oriented project management – can build a plan to implement a solution and track progress with customers week over week.
  • Strong communicator — can explain technical concepts clearly to customers and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple customer deployments and timelines.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed (up to 40%).

Nice to have

  • Comfortable working web APIs, e.g., OpenAPI specifications and API testing tools like Postman, Insomnia, or curl.
  • Significant experience with fuzzing tools (e.g., libFuzzer, AFL, Mayhem).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), especially Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, customer-facing roles like solution engineering, implementation, or technical consulting.
  • Rust/Golang experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
