Getting Started with Mayhem
Whether you are new to Mayhem or returning to the platform, when signing up, you have the flexibility to use your Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials from various popular social apps, such as Github, Atlassian, Gitlab, Apple, or Google.
Alternatively, you can create a new account using your email and password. Upon choosing your preferred authentication method, you can proceed with the registration process by clicking on the "register" button.
Once you have gained access to Mayhem, you will be prompted to provide some additional information about yourself. This step ensures that your user profile is complete and helps personalize your experience within the platform.
Afterward, you will need to create your Mayhem workspace, which will serve as your overall environment for managing your security testing projects.
Creating Projects and Testing
Once your workspace is set up, you can start creating individual projects within Mayhem. The platform allows you to conveniently test both APIs and code on a single screen, eliminating the need to switch between different interfaces. This cohesive testing experience enhances productivity and ensures a more efficient workflow.
Exploring the Navigation
Mayhem's left-hand navigation menu bar provides easy access to various sections and features. Let's take a closer look at each of these options:
- Dashboard: The dashboard serves as your central hub within Mayhem, providing an overview of your projects, recent activities, and key metrics.
- Projects: This section allows you to manage your projects, create new ones, and track their progress. Here, you can organize your security testing efforts and collaborate with your team members.
- Runs: The runs section enables you to view and analyze the results of your security tests. You can track the status of your tests, review vulnerabilities, and generate comprehensive reports.
- Settings: In the settings section, you can customize your Mayhem preferences, configure notification settings, and manage your account details.

- Mayhem CLI: If you prefer using the Command Line Interface (CLI), Mayhem provides a downloadable CLI tool. You can conveniently access and install the CLI from this section.

Also in the lower left-hand corner of the interface, you will find quick links to your account settings and logout options. These options enable you to manage your account details and securely log out whenever needed.
